It Happens Only In India

This post has been in pending state for quite some time. As usual busy schedules and of course my laziness plays a part too. Recently I went to India for my friend’s wedding and this time I am back with lots of memories. This trip has given me an unique experience and I must say I have learnt lot in this trip. Travelling alone has contributed to this unique experience as I had plenty of time in my hand that I absorbed everything and anything: )…..

Trip to India is incomplete if there are no highlights about the flight trip. I am sure many will agree with me on this. :) . As expected I had my share of good and bad experience travelling with a bunch of weird, funny and irritating passengers.

Some highlights from my trip

• I just don’t understand why some Indians don’t understand simple instructions such as “Please fasten your seat belt, please switch off your mobile inside the flight and please don’t stand when the fight is landing”. I am sure these are simple instructions. It’s either this extra ordinary bunch doesn’t want to follow the instructions are they are just ignorant about everything around them.

• The moment fight touches the ground immediately you will hear the seats belts unfastened. I am not talking about 1 or 2 but the whole flight doing this despite of the instructions “please fasten your seat belt until the seat belt sign is on”. Worst thing is a passenger beside me gave me this weird expression when he saw me with fasten seat belt. In Indian flights right is wrong and wrong is right. Beware of this fact : )

• Just a word of caution to everyone who wish to travel in budget airlines in future. The ticket in these airlines is cheap but everything else is not cheap. Right from the food that we need to purchase in the flight, to the blanket and even the seat you are seating. Everything comes with a price tag. It’s funny to see stewardess selling food and other items in the flight. Gave me the impression of being in the local train. Talk about feeling at home: P. So finally when it was time for stewardess to do their sales, an Indian man stopped the lady and innocently asked ‘Hi madam do we need to pay for this food or you giving it for free’. The highlight of this is the cute expression given by the stewardess. Hats off to her for that.

• I know budget airlines won’t have any entertainment but what I didn’t know is entertainment is shared between passengers. To avoid bored room, I was watching ‘Pyaar ka side effects’ movie  but to my shock I noticed my fellow neighbor was enjoying the movie in my IPod together with me. It’s time airlines have a list of side effects for passengers travelling in their airways. I had to choose boring sleep over the interesting movie to avoid this sharing entertainment. That was a pure torture. Phew!

• Everyone knows that we Indians are good in expressions but sadly my neighbor in the flight refused to understand my ‘I-am-not-interested’ expression about his life history.

• Last but not the least its time our Indian airport authorities stop acting that they are doing their job. Doing their job is good but they overdo it at times. For the first time I felt we have lot to learn from world class airports like Singapore in terms of customer service.

After going through all that unique experience in the flight ,I was finally excited to see what India has stored in for me. As I expected, India never disappoints me but it has more than enough to offer me.

• Heat in Tamil Nadu (southern part of India) is as expected and unbearable. Ice creams melt within seconds and Europeans can have a perfect sun tan within minutes.

• The site of people making their own zebra crossing by holding hands, college girls and guys’ chit chatting at the corner of the roads while the girl eyes are carefully scanning the surroundings to spot her family members, heroines and heroes being treated as larger than life with their posters all over the city, animals given equal rights on the roads with humans, girls showing the true meaning of traditional clothing, people using brakes and horn often than accelerate, the cold breeze which comes with a different sand smell reminding what you are badly missing , are sites not to be missed. All this can’t be missed in our motherland as this makes our India unique.

• The homely feeling one can get even with strangers happens only in India.

• Love the habit of all the relatives sleeping in groups in a big hall. The night is filled with laughter and fun. Modern lifestyle has given us too much of comfort and privacy, that we are slowly losing such small happiness.

• Indian weddings are a grand event. Right from preparing the bride, serving the guests, teasing the bridegroom, knowing hundreds of unknown relatives, forming new relations , new friendships and up course the ladies preparation with loads of gold , everything brings in lifetime memories. Saw a grand wedding after 10 years and it gave me memories for lifetime.

There are thousands of reasons why I love going to India. It has everything and anything for everyone: )That’s my Incredible India.

9 Years of life in a foreign land

From the title you can guess what this post is going to be about. I am celebrating or rather trying to celebrate my 9 years in Singapore. Yea on the 1st of July mom and I landed in Singapore. I landed with lots of questions in my mind. Future was a question mark and education was a bigger question mark. This country changed me totally to a different person I didn’t imagine of. I came across incidents which I would have never encountered in India. Had my share of good and bad times in Singapore .Ever since I came here I can’t help but to count the loss and gains in my life for migrating here.

Here is an extract of my loss and gain in Singapore: D

1. I don’t know what it is like to bunk college, what it is like to get ragged by seniors, what it is like to enjoy 300 days in a year and study just for the remaining days, what it is like to plan out of station trips with friends, what it is like to talk about latest Indian fashion with college friends and moreover what it is like to be surrounded by group of Indian friends. After I left India in 8th standard I don’t know what it is like to grow up in an Indian environment. Singapore offered me different education style, different lifestyle and made me a confident person. I am grateful to my parents for showing me the other side of life but nothing can make up for what I lost. The college life I lost is equals to everything. The image I had in my heart about college life is from my brother and friends. This college life remained as a missing part in my life puzzle. Even now I feel a major part has been skipped in my life. Feels like someone fast forwarded my life and skipped one full important chapter. Even if I achieve everything in life, the feeling of this missing part is forever felt within me : (

2. If I was in India I doubt I would have been able to step into the working world at such a young age. This turn out to be the advantage as now I am able to support myself and my studies all by myself. I would say this experience kind of turned me into a responsible person. I am glad this happened.

3. I meet my best friend once in 4 years or only when I go to India. The meeting duration has always been just few hrs or sometimes few minutes. This has been bothering me so much but not able to do anything about it but I am glad and proud to say that distance didn’t made a difference between us. We have been best friends since our 6th standard which means it’s been 12 years: D. On the other hand all my classmates have forgotten me by now and I don’t know how it feels to go for a school and college reunion.

4. I was brought up in Hyderabad since birth but today I can confidently say that I can’t roam around in Hyderabad alone. I don’t know where the famous IMAX theatre is; the popular shopping malls are or at least not even the famous charminar in Hyderabad. Given the fact that I visit Hyderabad once every 4 years (back in 2004) the place slowly turned out to be a foreign land for me. I can’t go out without a company. Every time I pay a visit to Hyderabad I try my best to remember the places but all my efforts will be wasted the next time I visit Hyderabad as nothing remains the same in the city for too long. The city is growing fast and I am lacking behind .Way behind everyone: (. I wish to change this. I want to proudly say that I am a true Hyderabadi (I am not able to say this now). To my wonder on my last visit brother and Vinod (more about this character in future: D) showed me around Hyderabad and I felt sad someone is introducing my city to me (saddest truth). Waiting for the day when I can show my city to others  proudly.

5. Normally we meet our relatives once in a while. My once in a while is really long that I forget who are they. Even today I can't recognize when some of my distance relative’s stand in front of me. The standard response from them for my blank face will be “oh you are so big now. The last time when we saw you, you were a small kid. Don’t you recognize us?” Damn I wish I can scream and say “I was a kid back then. How can I remember you!” Missed out family’s important functions and weddings. Now I am worried no one will attend my wedding in future: D .

6.Talk about behaving as roman when you are in Rome. During my initial days here I couldn’t get adapted to Singapore food and culture but now most of the local food became part of my daily diet: D .This shocks my family especially my mom.

This long distance has created so many problems in my life and each time it creates problems I can’t help but regret about coming to Singapore : (. Everything has loss and gain. So does my life. Somehow I created a home away from home. I may not stay in India phir bhi dil hai Hindustani. :D.Hamesha. I am an Indian by birth and by heart no matter where I go.

Phir Mile Sur Mera Tumhara...

Came across this song in many Orkut profiles and blogs on republic day. Being an Indian I am ashamed to say I didn’t knew that such a song exists :( . Glad I know it now. Felt nostalgic when I watched this video.

Every NRI who watched the video would feel “kash meh vaha hota (Wish I was there)”. For a second I wished I was in the beautiful diverse country. India is like a beautiful wedding bride dressed up in sari with perfect set of ornaments, bringing out the overall traditional look with a shy smile. The bride is a perfect beauty package. With different languages, wide range of food and mixture of cultures, India is indeed a beautiful bride and an engraved piece of art.

Coming back to the video , first of all I was very disappointed that Taj Mahal was not shown anywhere in the longest lengthy video. Come on India stands out because of the famous architecture and yet they choose not to include that. Beauty of Rajasthan and Jaipur the “pink City” was not shown anywhere too. I may sound biased here but was expecting a better part when telugu language’s part came in. Hyderabad is known as “Pearls City” and Charminar is a well known icon for it but yet they choose not to include it. All I saw was Mahesh babu‘s two minutes guest entry with no backdrop that emphasize that we are from a particular city. When a malayalee can highlight the beauty of “God’s own country” by showing off a back drop of coconut trees, traditional elephants and rivers, When Calcutta bridge is shown to highlight the city, why Hyderabad wasn’t shown anywhere? In the whole of Telugu film industry they could only find Mahesh babu as a right candidate for the video while we have more youth icons like prabhas etc. Well I am not against having Mahesh babu in the video but why only him??Why not few more celebrities??

The video included various celebrities conveying the same message in their respective language. Don’t get me started on the celebrities list now. As usual B’s family is given more importance. Maybe they forgot to include Jaya Bachan or her call sheets were too full. Sheesh. I never liked sallu bhai as a person nor as an actor but he delivered a great piece for the video with less fortunate kids. If only he does more good deeds like this.

Finally our sports man and women are given some chance to enjoy the stardom. When sportsman are given the chance why not our politicians? I am not talking about those who go on a hunger strike and clam to be dying every moment, while they enjoy a big feast far away from the camera’s eyes. Why our great leader Abdul Kalam wasn’t part of the song? They would have been worried that if he is included, rest of the politicians will use that as an excuse and seek for some stardom.

Overall the video and the song are okay. There is lack of Indian feeling due to the western touch given, resulting in a fusion. Since there are reviews that old version gives a better feeling I shall search for that song now.

Incredible India!

Finally I am back home (3 weeks ago). Yea Singapore became my home and India is my visiting place. I am a confused creature in this matter. India has my roots and Singapore has my livelihood. I can never take on any one side.

I would say the two weeks trip was worth my effort. Life in India and Singapore is similar yet poles apart. Similar as days are shorter and nights are even shorter equally but the feeling I went through in two places is diverse. My first encounter of motherland happened in Chennai. Had high expectations from one of India’s metropolitan city but I would say the impression Chennai has given me was purely disappointing. The international airport is not anywhere near to the international standards. It has not lived up to its name. Traffic in Indian cities truly amazes me. Now I am a not typical NRI in this matter who complains about India traffic and population but being lived in Singapore where even pressing horn is considered rude on the road, it was a different experience on Hyderabad roads. Life in Hyderabad is truly marvelous. People are very fashionable and their life’s revolve around enjoyment. I had my share of fun too. Had amazing bike rides and tasted my favourite pani puri in true hyderabadi style.

Right from the thrilling railway journey to my hometown, bus journeys to different places, having desi food in the road side stalls, doing the real shopping, meeting best buddies to enjoying with relatives I enjoyed every moment even though I had equal share of anger and sadness. Surprisingly my anger level goes up when I am in India. Not sure if it’s due to the different mind set of mine and the people back home or is it purely me.

I didn’t feel the presence of being in India neither when I landed in Chennai airport nor when I am out of the airport. That’s when I knew I need the real desi masala to feel the presence.

Came across celebrities banners along the road endorsing for various brands. You will find everything under the sun: Right from Aishwarya’s lux soap ad to cute maddy’s univercell poster. This is when I knew I am in India.

People have born talent to bargain for everything. Right from expensive clothes to auto rides. Being very bad in this I find it amazing when it was a piece of cake for people around me.

Seeing pedestrians forming their own zebra crossing by holding hands while crossing the roads, hearing relatives complaining that I am extremely thin and looks like African malnutrition kid I knew I am in my India.

I am always back in Singapore with lots of disappointed. Purely because I don’t get or not given chance to spend time with my friends. It’s been ages since I had peaceful enjoyable outing with them. I miss them so much and I hope I will break out of those rules one day.

India shall always be my incredible India and a place where I eventually belong.

Holiday Time!

INDIA

What is India without having “Incredible” in it ?:)

What is sagarika19.blogspot.com without having a post about India in it?

Haha bad joke but can’t help it when my mind is looking forward for this Saturday

Finally I am going to India after good 9months!

For the first time in 9years I am going to India within 9 months time. 1st wonder.
For the first time I am going to India with my bro. 2nd wonder.
For the first time I am going to spend few whole days with my dearest friends including celebrating new year with them. 3rd wonder.

Finally I can munch on to my favorite food: pani puri one and only one food I miss the most
When I told my office colleagues that I am going for a holiday, without a second thought they said “ oh you are going back to India”.

Why the hell it's "BACK" to India. It’s always been my place and will be my place. I am not leaving Singapore for now and of course will never leave India from my heart.
Hoping to capture some wonderful moments and come back with a clearer mind.
Before I leave to India I may or may not write a post.

So wish you all Merry Christmas and happy New year !

It’s festive season so please share your joy with less fortunate by donating atleast 1% of what you spend for yourself.

Suffocating N R I

8 yrs back I used to hear this “Heard India is a village and there is no electricity there"

sheesh..... My mind voice would be going this way “Oh what is electricity? We survive using candles whole life!!!!"

Currently I hear this “Oh Indian software professionals are cheap labor"

But this time it’s not my mind voice that stands up for India. It’s my LOUD voice which says “No they earn lot more than what locals earn here!”

YES Sagarika ! shabash! Good improvement

Putting the jokes aside it really shocks me about the way people think about the world's second largest population country. This incident reminded me of namaste london scene where Akshay plays a defensive Indian role in kartina's engagement function.

Here it is my part as a defensive Indian.

Ya it’s true that our roads are very bad and we don't follow traffic rules but we invented the world's cheapest car. Ya it’s true that we have crazy summer seasons that our people die of hunger and our homes are flooded during rainy seasons but we know how to get back on our feet . Ya it’s true our people encounter bombs everyday as you all encounter rains but we knew how to get back on our feet after our Mumbai terrorist attacks (Taj hotel was re-opened within a week from the blasting). Ya we have stressful education system that students study more than 19 hours a day without having any leisure time for sports but we have the great institutes like IIT and BITS and of course we have CRICKET. Ya we accept our politicians just do business with their positions but among the thorns we have roses like our President Dr Abdul Kalam who is a nuclear scientist. Ya our students only know one field of study ‘Computer Science’ but isn’t we are most wanted by powerful countries like US. Ya agree that our people die of hunger despite of being a country which provides exports to almost every country in the world but atleast we produce our own food for our people.

No country No Person is perfect. We may not be perfect but we are incredible. Are you?

Chak De!

Chak De !

While the world moved on to “Kaminey” and “whats your Rashee” I am still holding on to Chak De India! Normally I fall in love with a movie because of the hero (I watched all Hrithik movies just for him), the song lyrics or specific scenes in the movie (very soon will write a post on this). However this movie is special in every way. Firstly I love Shakrukh Khan and on top of that the movie is about I-N-D-I-A. I watched it with brother first day first show in Singapore. Each and every scene in the movie brings out the patriotic feelings within me. I am familiar with every scene in the movie, each dialogue but still every time I watch the movie, it doesn’t fail to bring out genuine feeling as I had for the first time in theater.

These are some of my favorite dialogues in the movie. Of course I didn’t write them. Firstly I am bad in writing Hindi and worst in writing Hindi in English. Whoever wrote this dialogues Thank you so much.

· Mujhe states ki naam na sunayie dethe hai, na dhikaie dete hai. Sirf ek mulk-a-naam sunayie detha hai, I-N-D-I-A

· Jo nahin ho sakt, wahi tho karna hai!

· National Women’s Hockey na kuch kar payee hai, na kuch kar payengi.

· Har team mein bas ek hi gunda ho saktha hai, Aur is team ka gunda mein hun!

· Vaar karna hai to mardho ki tarah aage se karo… Woh kya hai ki humari team me chakke nahi hote!!

· Chandi (Srk referring to his silver medal) Ko Sone Me badlne ki koshish kar rahaa hoon.

· Pehli baar kisi ghore ko Bharath ka jhanda leharate hue dekh raha hoon.

· Marr jaayenge - par haar ke nahi aayenge!!

· I love the dialogue when the two girls from eastern india come for registration and the person says something like “mehmano ka swagat hai”. The girls get upset & tell “apne hi desh mein mehmaan bankaar koi khush kaise ho sakta hai”. It really touched me deep down

· EK Baat achi tarah sun lijiye aur abhi samaj lijiye. Kyuki mai dubhara nahi batunga. Is team sirf o player chaiye jo pehlie india ke liye khel rahe hai, fir apne satiyon ke liye , uss ki baad bhi thodi bhout jaan bach jaye tho apne liye.State govt ki naukri ya railway flat k liye nahi..

· Team banane ke liye taaquat naihn Neeyat chahiye

My FAVOURITE among the FAVOURITE
· Sattar(70) Minute, sattar min hai tumhare paas. Shayad yeh.. tumhare zindagi ke sab se… khaas sattar minute. Aaj tum aacha khelo ya bura khelo, yeh sattar minute tumhe zindagi bhar yaad rahegi. Tho kaise khelna hai.. aaj mein tumhe nahin bataunga.. Bas itna kahunga, ki jao aur yeh sattar minute jee bhar kar khelna.. kyunki iske baad aane wali zindagi chahe kuch sahi ho ya na ho.. chahe kuch rahe ya na rahe.. haro ya jeeto..lekin yeh sattar minute.. tumse koi nahin cheen saktha, Kyunki mein jaantha hu ki aagar yeh sattar minute is team ka har player apne zindagi ki sabse badiya hockey khel gaya.. tho yeh satar min khuda bhi tumse vapas nahin maang saktha. (This is one of the best scenes from Chak De India. Just before the Hockey Final)

I loved the scene when komal passes the ball to preety and shouts " go and show that guy what a girl can do" ( result of translation). I just LOVEEEEE that line. Its as if someone within me is telling me nothing is impossible for a girl. She can prove she is capable of everything a guy is capable of. Thats when i felt this

" Push her to limits and she will go beyond the limits"

No one could have done this movie like Shakrukh Khan . He rocks. I have fallen in love with his smile during the finals match with those teary eyes and the proud moment when India wins the world cup.

Lost & Found

Before I start a new post I just want to declare something.

My dear friends the previous post was about INDIA. Its not about any person in my life. Just wrote it for my INDIA.

This post was supposed to be written on independence day but exams took over my total weekend.

First time in 9 yrs of my stay in Singapore I decided to attend aug 15th celebrations at Singapore Indian embassy. Someone please hit me hard on my head( i wore jeans on that day). Yes that's the most stupidest thing I could do. How the hell did I forgot its INDIAN celebrations.

So dressed in western culture brother and I reached embassy just to know that the flag raising ceremony was finished 7 minutes before we reached there. Yes 7 minutes!!!. Normally brother's timing sense is so perfect that he is on time for every event but maybe today my luck was very bad. I badly wanted to sing the national anthem. Added to my disappointed we couldn't get any India flags in the embassy. I had one pasted in my room which was given by sai but it was gone when my room was repainted. Putting aside all the disappointments I was ready to enjoy the performances given by the kids and I know I took the RIGHT decision by coming to embassy.

Watching the performances I traveled back to my school days in India. Those patriotic songs sang by the kids took my thoughts away from here. I was feeling proud that I still remember the lyrics of those songs despite of hating my music classes during my school days. My music teacher was a Hitler who wouldn't allow us into the class without our music book with updated content. We use to sing each song many times before she pick one of us and tested our singing. I hated to sing for 1 hr each week but when I heard the same songs back in a foreign land with full gosh and desi feeling, my heart skipped. Thanks teacher if not for your long strict singing classes I wouldn't feel so proud of myself today. I was looking at the flag for every long and I realized how much I miss going back home. When I was studying in India Aug 15th use to be special day. Ya special because on this day we had no classes. So all we did is happily carry a water bottle and go to school for flag raising. It use to be a relief-from-school day in the past but now its so close to my heart. Its true that we appreciate only when that particular thing is not there with us anymore. This logic goes to humans and material stuff too. There was dandiya dance included in the performance. Seeing that high energetic dance all I wanted to do is bring those silly dumb people who says "oh Indian dance is dancing around the coconut trees" and tell them "look kaminey this is what an Indian is capable of".

At end of the show I was looking forward for some desi food but again I was disappointed when we were given a box with samosa and laddu. Ya laddu is desi food but come on can I have more on our important day! I suggest that Indian embassy organize a street food setting with all kinds of perfect Indian foods . Of course on top of the list will be my favourite pani puri! Overall it was great feeling to be part of my mother India special day in a foreign land. Go India Go!!!!

I promised myself that by next year I must have a full white salwar kameez with the flag colours Dupatta and full set bangles(Ha one more reason to go India in december! ha ha).

I came across this orkut theme on Aug 15th and find it very good.

Finally i found myself again in this lost land.

Phir Bi Dil Hai Hindustani

Hum Tum

Where are you? I miss you so much. Wish I was there with you on this special day.Been away from you since many years yet I miss you so badly. Others became part of my life but there is always a special bond between us which I refuse to feel it with anyone else. I agree I neglected you at point of time but you should know that I was helpless during those times. You are the cause for what I am today. Yes you make me feel complete. I was brought up in front of you. Despite of facing lots of problems with you my love for you will never vanish. I tolerated when others were rude to you just because only I know the REAL you. Always you gave me the best and I hope to return your favor at least in this life time. I want to be back with you soon. Hoping that you will accept me as what I am today. I am still the same old yours. I am only yours always.

My love for you will never change. It gets deeper as days pass by.

Some great songs which reminds me of you(INDIA). JUST YOU.

I AM COMING HOME AGAIN

Itane armaan lekar abb main jaaunga kahaan

Kuch paane ko jo khoya phir paaunga kahaan

Manzil kho gayi ek pal ko bass raah rah gayi

Raahon ne yuun moda ki manjilhi mil gayi

Kab kahaan dil se nikali sada, mujhko nahi pata

I m coming home again

Mil gayi mujhko meri disha, badali hai yuun hawaan

I m coming home again
Kitane armaan lekar abb main jaaunga kahaan

Kuch paane ko jo khoya phir paaunga kahaan

Kab kahaan dil se nikali sada, mujhko nahi pata

I m coming home again

Mil gayi mujhko meri disha, badali hai yuun hawaan

I m coming home again
Chehara jaanasa kuchh pehchaana sa, main tha Magar main nahi

Sapane tute the armaan jhute the, aankhon mein Mere kahin

Jo chaaha woh paaya hai maine magar

Kaise milaau main (khud se nazar - 2)

Kab kahaan dil se nikali sada, mujhko nahi pata

I m coming home again

Mil gayi mujhko meri disha, badali hai yuun hawaan

I m coming home again
Kisne mujhe na samajha, maine kise na jaana, Deewar khud ban gayi

Rishte puri tarah se, bikhare bhi toh nahi the, bass Thi daraare kayi

Abb woh deewaare daraare nahi

Apane hain sapane hai (saare yahin - 2)

Kab kahaan dil se nikali sada, mujhko nahi pata

I m coming home again

Mil gayi mujhko meri disha, badali hai yuun hawaan

I m coming home again (coming home again)

Itane armaan lekar abb main jaaunga kahaan

Kuch paane ko jo khoya phir paaunga kahaan

Manzil kho gayi ek pal ko bass raah rah gayi

Raahon ne yuun moda ki manjilhi mil gayi

Kab kahaan dil se nikali sada, mujhko nahi pata

I m coming home again

Mil gayi mujhko meri disha, badali hai yuun hawaan

I m coming home again

Swades

I am at "home" yet feeling home sick.

So how is this exactly possible?

flash back: :P

Sitting in the Border of singapore( Yes i consider that place as the border) seeing flights taking off every 5 mintues to different countries including meri des makes me feel I am not at home despite of being at "home". I always had the urge to go back to India and it just got stronger today. OMG.

The song that was going on in my mind during those great moments

(Ye jo des hai tera, swades hai tera, tujhe hai pukaara

Ye woh bandhan hai jo kabhi toot nahin sakta) -2

Mitti ki jo khushboo, tu kaise bhoolaayega

Tu chaahe kahin jaaye, tu laut ke aayega

Nayi nayi raahon mein, dabi dabi aahon mein

Khoye khoye dilse tere, koyi ye kahega

Ye jo des hai tera, swades hai tera, tujhe hai pukaara

Ye woh bandhan hai jo kabhi toot nahin sakta

Tujhse zindagi, hai ye keh rahi

Sab toh paa liya, ab hai kya kami

Yun toh saare sukh hai barse

Par door tu hai apne gharse

Aa laut chal tu ab diwaane

Jahaan koyi toh tujhe apna maane

Awaaz de tujhe bulaane, wahi des

Ye jo des hai tera, swades hai tera, tujhe hai pukaara

Ye woh bandhan hai jo kabhi toot nahin sakta

Ye pal hai wahi, jis mein hai chhupi

Koyi ek sadi, saari zindagi

Tu na poochh raaste mein kaahe

Aaye hain is tarha do raahein

Tu hi toh hai raah jo sujhaaye

Tu hi toh hai ab jo ye bataaye

Chaahe toh kis disha mein jaaye wahi des

Ye jo des hai tera, swades hai tera, tujhe hai pukaara

Ye woh bandhan hai jo kabhi toot nahin sakta
